Report from General Assembly in Beijing – 25/26.10.2018
36th General Assembly of CIME/ICEM was arranged by EMAC at the Central Conservatory of Music in Beijing on October 25/26.10, 2018, in a frame of Musicacoustica festival in Beijing 2018 with CIME concerts on 25-28.10.2018 and CIME conference on 26/27.10.2018.
Marek Chołoniewski, President of CIME/ICEM expressed his appreciation to Prof. Zhang Xiaofu for invitation and hospitality.
He welcomed delegates coming to Beijing with their valid votes: Konstantinos Karathanasis (HELMCA), Dariusz Mazurowski (PSeME), Jon Christopher Nelson (CEMI/UNT), Qi Mengjie (EAC), Manuel Rocha Iturbide (AARSOM), Andrea Szigetvári (HCMF), Giulia Sarno (Tempo Reale), Todor Todoroff (FeBeME), Zhang Xiaofu (EMAC).
Marek Choloniewski, on behalf of the Main Board, presented Moral, Activities and Financial report from 2018. Reports were revised and discussed by Board of Directors and General Assembly. Board of Directors & General Assembly voted all reports unanimously with proxies from: James Andean, Miguel Azguime, Françoise Barrière, Gonzalo Biffarella, Panayiotis Kokoras, Rodrigo Sigal, Alla Zagaykevytch (all votes pro).
Marek Choloniewski presented „CIME Beijing 2018”, an Audio CD album released in Audiomat with selected program from CIME concerts at Musicacoustica 2018.
Reports from members of CIME were presented by: Zhang Xiaofu / EMAC, Todor Todoroff / FeBeME, Giulia Sarno / Tempo Reale, Jon Christopher Nelson/CEMI/UNT, Manuel Rocha Iturbide / AARSOM, Andrea Szigetvári/HCMF, Gregorio Jimenez / AMEE, Dariusz Mazurowski / PSeME.
Marek Choloniewski presented applications from 4 organizations to be a member of CIME: ACMA, Australasian Computer Music Association (Lindsay Vickery), Musiques & Recherches (Annette Vande Gorne), Festival DME (Jaime Reis) and Tbilisi Conservatory of Music (Reso Kiknadze).
Tempo Reale in Florence (Francesco Giomi), Italian OIM member of CIME and Institute of Sonology in Hague (Kees Tazelaar), Dutch OIM member of CIME were voted and accepted as a full members of CIME.
Tbilisi Conservatory didn’t send an application letter. Musiques & Recherches sent letter singed by administration of the center and General Assembly asked for the letter signed by director or somebody from the Main Board, e.g. Anette Vande Gorne. Letter signed by Annette Vande Gorne was sent on October 26, 2018 at 15.46, 4 hours after General Assembly close and was not considered and voted. In case of Festival DME from Portugal, General Assembly had doubt whether festival can be a member of CIME.
On October 26 General Assembly welcomed following delegates with ther valid votes: Elsa Justel (FARME), Martyna Kosecka and Idin Samimi Mofakham (Spectro), as well as Igor Kefalidis and Konstantin Zenkin (CEAMMC). They joined General Assembly and presented activity reports of their organizations.
Australasian Computer Music Foundation represented by its President Lindsay Vickery was accepted as a new OIM candidate member of CIME from Australia.
General Assembly decided to postpone OIM membership of Musiques & Recherches (Anette Vande Gorne), Festival DME (Jaime Reis) and Tbilisi Conservatory (Reso Kiknadze) for next General Assembly meeting of CIME in 2019.
General Assembly awarded two Members of Honor of CIME: Francois Bayle and Elzbieta Sikora. They both confirmed and express their high appreciation to the decision of CIME.
General Assembly discussed rules of Prix CIME 2019 competition and made some corrections (age limit to 35 years old for Residency Prize), also confirmed January 2019 as a date for Open Call and May 31 as a deadline of the competition.
The Jury of Prix CIME 2019 was extended by Konstantinos Karathanasis (HELMCA) and Idin Samimi Mofakham (Spectro)
After discussion General Assembly had chosen the place for General Assembly of CIME in 2019 – Santiago de Chile with the invitation from Renzo Filinich coordinating CECH, Chilean National Federation of CIME. Discussed also Krakow as a alternative place for General Assembly of CIME in 2019 (coordinated by PSeME and SME in Krakow).
General Assembly considered also Brussels for General Assembly of CIME meeting in 2020 coordinated by FeBeME (to be confirmed during General Assembly in 2019).
General Assembly of CIME was closed with appreciation to Prof. Zhang XiaoFu and invitation to CIME Conference after a short break.
